Meet the founder
Tommy Smith
Business owner. Practical AI strategist. Persistent problem solver.

Big-picture thinking.
The drive to make it work.
Tommy Smith is the founder of Service Tech AI, based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He is also the founder of CHIRP, a technology company. He brings the perspective of a business owner, the curiosity of a hands-on AI practitioner, and the determination to work through difficult problems. As owner of River Valley Roofing & Construction, he understands the responsibility behind every decision: winning business, managing costs, coordinating people, delivering quality work, and getting paid.
His practical AI use spans sales, marketing, operations, project management, and strategic planning. He has used AI to develop proposals and marketing materials, organize estimating information, create operating procedures, and shape tools for job oversight and quality control. That experience gives him a view across business units: how information moves, where handoffs break down, and where clearer processes can help teams work together.
Tommy has directed the AI-assisted creation of a roofing project dashboard prototype with inspection checklists, pass-or-fail decisions, failure notes, and photo requirements. He has also worked through insurance-estimate review processes that distinguish supported findings from missing documentation. These examples reflect his approach to problem-solving: define the issue, ask better questions, organize the evidence, and turn a complicated challenge into something people can understand and act on.
His strength is connecting the big picture with the details that determine whether an idea is useful. He challenges unclear requirements, refines work through direct feedback, and keeps the people doing the job central to the solution. His background in business and marketing complements an operator’s instinct for priorities, accountability, and follow-through.
Through Service Tech AI, Tommy brings that mindset to consulting for small and midsize businesses and municipalities. His focus is helping leaders identify worthwhile AI applications, align opportunities across business units, select suitable technology, and create practical plans for adoption and growth. The starting point is always the organization’s goals, its people, and the problems worth solving.
